Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, one of the world’s most famous and most talented drummers, died recently on Monday, December 28, 2009. He was the drummer of the very famous metal band “Avenged Sevenfold”, a band from Huntington Beach, California which has been active since 1999. The Rev was born on February 9, 198… he was only 28 years old! He was also the lead vocalist in the band Pinky Smooth. He played several instruments including drums, guitar, bass, and piano. His entire body was basically covered in tattoos also. He was also tall, had black hair and wore glasses.
The Rev was found dead in his home in Huntington Beach at 1:00 pm. The autopsies were “inconclusive”, from the scene it appeared to be natural causes. The Rev supposedly died of natural causes, but in the past he has admitted to heavy use of cocaine and other drugs, some people feel like this was definitely a contributing factor to his death. It is rumored that he had cancer in his stomach. He also drank a lot of alcohol in his past.
The band stated on their myspace page that The Rev was a great friend as well as a band mate. His death will affect the bands performance, seeing as he is known to be the best member in the band. Without his amazing drumming, the band’s sound will never be the same. The band is now working on an album which is dedicated to The Rev. It is going to be there last album ever, and the new drummer for this album is Mike Portnoy, who is also a very talented drummer, but he is not The Rev.
